Kuala Lumpur Tower,
The Tower with a Magnificent View

The Kuala Lumpur Tower, or more commonly known as the KL Tower (Menara Kuala Lumpur in the Malay language) by the locals is located at the peak of Bukit Nanas, Kuala Lumpur.

Standing at 421 meters high, it is ranked as the tallest tower in Asia and the fifth tallest tower in the world.

Built in 1995, and officially opened on 1st October 1996, the Kuala Lumpur Tower is not only a telecommunications tower, it also serves as a television and radio broadcasting station.

At the top of the tower is the 'Revolving Restaurant' which is also known as the 'Restoran Berputar Seri Angkasa' in the Malay Language. This restaurant is fascinating in every sense. With a capacity of 250 pax, the Revolving Restaurant serves international and local cuisine 'Above The Clouds'. At a height of 282 meters, this 9,172 square feet restaurant not only offers its visitors a lovely assortment of delicious cuisines, it also offers them an amazing dining experience.

The 'Revolving Restaurant', as its name suggests, revolves ever so slowly to provide its diners with a panoramic view of the city. Imagine viewing different parts of KL while you dine...

If you are interested in having A Heavenly Dining Experience at the KL Tower, the restaurant is open daily from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. for lunch and 6:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. for dinner. A la carte menus are available for lunch and dinner. Buffets are available daily at RM 68++ per person for lunch and RM 100++ per person for dinner. Afternoon Tea and Hi-Tea is also available, but only during weekdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

During Malaysia's 50th Anniversary, BASE jumpers celebrated it by jumping off from the KL Tower. Interesting huh?

The KL Tower was featured in the reality show "The Amazing Race Asia 1". It was the first pit-stop in the show and fielded a route marker on the final leg of the same race.

And for fast food lovers who want a "High" fast food experience, the KL Tower also houses the World's Highest McDonalds.

The KL Tower is open daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and the Admission fee is as follows:

For Locals:

Adult = RM 10
Children = RM 5

For Foreigners:

Adult = RM 20
Children = RM 10

Getting to KL Tower is easy. You could take the Monorail and get off at the Bukit Nanas station. Then walk over to the KL Tower as it is just within walking distance from there. Alternatively, you could take the "KL Hop-On Hop-Off Double Decker" if you're planning to tour the entire KL city in a day. Of course, if you don't fancy those two ways of getting there, you could always take a Taxi.

The Kuala Lumpur Tower is definitely another "Must-See" when you're here in Kuala Lumpur.
