Langkawi Craft Complex

"To be truly Fascinated by the Amazingly Beautiful
Pulau Langkawi Attractions,
You've got to come here and see it for yourself!"

Langkawi Craft ComplexOne of the Langkawi Island attractions worth visiting here is the Langkawi Craft Complex.

It was set up in 1996 to promote Malaysia's cultural heritage and it houses a wide array of handcrafted items reflecting the diverse cultures and lifestyles of a multiracial Malaysia.

This Craft Complex also houses a Royal Museum, an Islamic Museum and a Heritage Museum.

The Langkawi Craft Complex is a one-stop arts and crafts centre filled with various craft works. Here, you would be able to find forest-based products, local fabrics, ceramics, metal artifacts and beautiful objects representing the various ethnic groups in Malaysia.

When you visit the demonstration centre of the complex, you'd be able to observe and learn the intricate techniques of producing local works such as weaving, batik painting, wood carving and plaiting from experienced and highly skilled craftsmen. Besides that, you would also be able to witness wedding ceremonies and customs of the multiracial Malaysians through static representations which are displayed here.

Langkawi Craft ComplexThe gorgeous silverware and brass ware (which are adorned with motifs inspired by nature) found here at the Langkawi Craft Complex is amazingly beautiful and fascinating.

When you're here, you would also be able to see beautiful baskets of rattan, mengkuang and pandan leaves which are woven ever so skillfully by the craftsmen.

On top of that, you would definitely be awed and fascinated by the beauty and craftsmanship of the hand-drawn and printed Batik and Songket, with silk material interwoven with gold and silver threads which brings out the essence of Malay design.

At the Museum of History and Legends which is situated within the complex, you would get to learn and later be mystified by all the myths and legends of Langkawi and Mahsuri.

The Langkawi Craft Complex is situated at the scenic Teluk Yu, Mukim Bohor and is Opened Daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Entrance to the complex is Free.
