This grand double-storey building, which makes up Galeria Perdana, was built to display and share with everyone the various awards, souvenirs and gifts received by the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, and his wife from world leaders, statesmen as well as Malaysians during his tenure as Prime Minister.

Tun Dr. Mahathir believed that whatever he received while in office was on behalf of all Malaysians and because of that, he felt it was only appropriate that the country had access to the collection.

Among the exhibits displayed here are gifts made of crystal, wood, leather, and lacquer, as well as musical instruments and stone objects.

Another section within the building displays exhibits such as textiles, games, weaponry, ceramics, plaques and Islamic art.

There are also gifts made of silver, copper, brass and pewter. There is even an array of automobiles.

Do take time to wander around the Galeria and read the descriptions accompanying the exhibits. They are indeed very interesting!

The Galeria Perdana is situated at Kilim, Mukim Air Hangat and is Opened Daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on normal days, and from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on School Holidays and Public Holidays.

The Entrance Fee is as follows:-

Malaysians

Adults = RM 5.00

Child = RM 2.00 (under 12 yrs of age)

Foreigners

Adults = RM 10.00

Child = RM 4.00 (under 12 yrs of age)

If you wish to bring a Camera into the Galeria, you would have to pay an extra RM 2.00 and if you wish to bring a Video Camera into the Galeria, you would have to pay an extra RM 5.00.
