Perak Travel - Getting to Perak by Bus There are several bus operators serving the Kuala Lumpur - Ipoh route. There are many other bus operators serving this route. I mentioned the three bus operators above because in my personal opinion, they are the most reliable among the many bus operators serving this route. The journey from Kuala Lumpur to Ipoh is approximately 2 hours 30 minutes and you will arrive Ipoh at the Silvertage Galleria Bus Terminal, Medan Gopeng.
Perak Travel - Getting there by Railway The railway track in Peninsular Malaysia covers the entire length of the Peninsular. If you are the type who likes traveling on a slow pace while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the countryside, minus the hassle of driving, then traveling by rail should be your choice. You can choose to board the train at the KL Sentral station in Kuala Lumpur and alight at the Ipoh Railway Station, or any other stations in the state of Perak, depending on your chosen destination. The journey takes approximately 3.5 to 4 hours. The fare (economy class) from Kuala Lumpur Sentral (KL Sentral) station to Ipoh is RM 10 for adults and RM 6 for children. Perak Travel - Getting there by Car If you enjoy driving around and exploring Malaysia with friends and family, then you would most likely prefer this mode of transportation. Driving to Ipoh is fairly easy. If you're coming from Kuala Lumpur, head towards the North-South Expressway. Once you're on the North-South Expressway, keep heading North. As you drive along the Expressway, you would be passing by exits such as Rawang, Bukit Beruntung, Behrang, Slim River, Sungkai, Bidor, Tapah, Gopeng and Simpang Pulai before finally reaching Ipoh. You can either choose to take exit No. 139 (Ipoh Selatan) or exit No. 140 (Ipoh Utara) to get to Ipoh. The journey from Kuala Lumpur to Ipoh takes approximately 2 hours 30 minutes by car. If you're coming from Penang, head towards the North-South Expressway. Once you're on the Expressway, head South. As you drive along the Expressway, you would be passing by exits such as Juru, Bukit Tambun, Jawi, Bandar Baru, Bukit Merah, Taiping, Changkat Jering, Kuala Kangsar and Jelapang before finally reaching Ipoh. The journey from Penang to Ipoh takes approximately 3 - 3.5 hours by car. All these places may sound foreign to you and you may be worried that you won't be able to find your way to Ipoh.
